The Roman Catholic parish church of Heiligenkreuz in the Lafnitztal is in a slightly elevated position above the community of Heiligenkreuz in the Lafnitztal ( Hungarian : Rábakeresztúr ) in the Jennersdorf district in Burgenland . It is dedicated to the discovery of the cross and belongs to the Jennersdorf dean's office .

history

The parish of Heiligenkreuz in Lafnitztal already existed in the Middle Ages. After it was temporarily closed, it was re-established in 1710.

The former building was erected in 1712, the current church was built between 1796 and 1800.

Architecture and equipment

The interior

The single-nave church has four bays and neo-Gothic shapes. The western facade tower has a pointed gable helmet . The end of the choir is polygonal on the outside and semicircular on the inside. Between the belt arches , which rest on pilasters , there is a square vault. The facility dates from 1966.
