history

A church was mentioned in documents in 1150 and a parish in 1372. The patronage of the parish was documented in 1688 with the rule Ruttenstein.

Romanesque nave walls in the current central nave and a Romanesque gable from the 12th century have been preserved. The tower was probably built in the second half of the 15th century. The choir was built around 1500. The aisles built around 1600, as well as the west gallery, both with an increase in the Romanesque nave as today's central nave with vaulting. The current vault in the central nave is from the middle of the 17th century, in the attic the beginnings of the Gothic vault caps are still preserved. The sacristy was built in the 18th century. The roof structure was rebuilt in 2000.

architecture

The three-aisled, three-bay staggered church with a significantly higher Romanesque and Gothic elevated central nave has a vault with baroque belt-backed lancet barrels or groin vaults on pillars. The late Gothic aisles have different star rib vaults. The retracted one-bay choir with a five-eighth end is vaulted with cross ribs. The Gothic tower is in the southern corner of the choir. In the northern corner of the choir there is a baroque sacristy. In the east and west, the church is surrounded by a churchyard wall.

A wall painting in the north aisle shows the crucifixion with a donor family from the beginning of the 16th century.

Furnishing

After the removal of the neo-Gothic furnishings, the furnishings were reorganized in 1952/1954 with some of the works of art purchased.

The high altar is formed by a crucifixion group from Meinrad Guggenbichler's circle from the beginning of the 18th century, which was acquired in 1953 from the former Haslau village chapel near Zell am Moos. An angel from the first quarter of the 18th century stands over a baroque plinth with a tabernacle by Klothilde Rauch from 1952/1954. A neo-Gothic altar table with presented columns is from the second half of the 19th century. Behind it is a brick Gothic altar with a profiled cafeteria.

The organ was built in 1971 by Herbert Gollini with II Man./10 Reg. There are baroque timpani from the 18th century and a horn from the first third of the 19th century.
