Today's castle ruins, first mentioned in a document in 1160, are located 3.5 kilometers northeast of Pierbach at 758 meters above sea level.

The church was first mentioned in a document in 1150. The Romanesque nave walls and the Romanesque gable from the 12th century were built over in the 15th century. It is a three-aisled and three-bay staggered church with a cross ridge and star rib vaults in the naves. The sacristy dates from the 18th century. The late Gothic keel-arched side entrance portal is striking. The high altar dates from the 18th century.
