Parish church Ried am Riederberg
The parish church of Ried am Riederberg is in an elevated position in the village of Ried am Riederberg in the market town of Sieghartskirchen in the Tulln district in Lower Austria . The Roman Catholic parish church , consecrated to St. John the Baptist , belongs to the Tulln deanery in the diocese of St. Pölten . The church is a listed building ( list entry ).
history
The parish was founded in 1211 by Hadmar von Kuenring. Since 1529 a branch of the Sieghartskirchen parish church . From 1548 part of the Rappoltenkirchen rule . In 1784 the parish was rebuilt. The church was rebuilt in 1826.
architecture
The simple hall church with a facade tower is surrounded by a cemetery.
The four-bay nave has rectangular windows, the retracted semicircular closing choir has arched windows. The four-storey facade tower has blind windows, arched sound windows and clock gables and has a retracted eight-sided pyramid helmet. A sacristy is built on the north side of the choir and a confessional room on the south side. To the north of the nave is a portal porch.
The interior of the church shows itself as a four-bay nave under square vaults on belt arches on profiled cornices on pilasters, the single-bay square vaulted choir has an apse conche. The west gallery stands on arched arcades. The tower ground floor has a groin vault.
The stained glass St. Leopold und Kelch is from the end of the 19th century.
Furnishing
The high altar as a round arch retable with side pilasters was transferred here from the parish church of Hürm around 1825 , it shows the altarpiece Birth of John the Baptist. The side altars as a neo-baroque columned retable from the end of the 19th century bear the statue of Our Lady with Christ Child and scepter on the left and the statue of St. Joseph.
The organ was built by Joseph Gatto the Elder in 1825.
