history

A church was built in 1160/1165 under Abbot Martin von Kremsmünster and named in a document. 1179 was in a confirmation bull from Pope Alexander III. parocchiam Riede called as an independent parish. In the middle of the 15th century, the church was closed due to dilapidation. The current parish church was built in the late Gothic style from 1476 to 1522. After a fire took place in 1736 under the abbot Alexander III. (1731–1759) a restoration. Further restorations took place in 1902/1903 and 1952. In the course of the renovation in 1986 Solnhofen slabs were laid and a people's altar was set up.

architecture

The late Gothic two-aisled hall church is a tuff stone block. The choir is from 1476, on the fron arch is mentioned 1516. The four-bay ribbed vaulted nave is joined by the three-bay ribbed vaulted choir, which is raised by two steps, and a three-eighth end. The four-axis, twice-broken west gallery is vaulted with mesh ribs. The west tower, visible from afar, has an onion helmet. The richly braced keel-arched south portal from 1522 has a vestibule. The shoulder-arched north portal marked 1605 also has a vestibule.

Furnishing

The decor is neo-Gothic. The high altar was created by the Gmunden sculptor H. Untersberger (1874) and bears the statues Joseph, Nicholas and John the Baptist. The side altars are from 1875. The left side altar bears Baroque statues Florian with Apollonia and Rochus from the end of the 17th century. The right side altar of the Virgin Mary bears the Gothic statues Wolfgang and Leonhard, which were transferred here from the Weigersdorf subsidiary church from an altar consecrated in a document in 1476.
