history
Until 1950 there was a barrack in its place that had been looked after by the parish of Maxglan . In 1967 St. Vitalis became its own parish, responsible for Maxglan-West and Wals-Viehhausen .
The prominent architect Wilhelm Holzbauer was won over as a planner, and in 1972 a parish center with a new church was built. The church has an open bell tower, which can be found in the church hall as a ceiling design element. The spacious and idiosyncratic church has a side choir and is provided with a structured wooden ceiling.
With the reorganization of the deaneries and parish associations of the Archdiocese of Salzburg, the parish of St. Vitalis was separated from the association of the deanery Salzburg-West , and not the new city deanery, but the deanery Bergheim, and there the parish association Großgmain - Wals - Walserfeld - Siezenheim affiliated.
