The Roman Catholic parish church of St. Konrad is located in the parish of St. Konrad in the Gmunden district in Upper Austria . It is consecrated to St. Konrad and belongs to the Deanery Pettenbach in the Diocese of Linz . The building is a listed building .

history

The current municipality of St. Konrad originally belonged to the parish of the parish church Kirchham and the parish church Viechtwang . A field chapel - the first "Konradikapelle" - in the center of the village has been proven as early as the 14th century. Shortly after 1500 the current nave was built in the late Gothic style. The building site was made available by the Kremsmünster Abbey, which is responsible for pastoral care . The older name of the building was "Herrigott in der Wies", which was replaced by the name "St. Conradt ”was ousted.

It was run as a branch church of Viechtwang from around 1500 to 1752 , and was declared a mission station in 1752. In the course of the reforms of Emperor Joseph II , the small church in St. Konrad became a parish church. The parish was raised in 1783. The present cemetery is dated to 1856. The enlargement of the sacred building, begun in 1909, was completed in 1910.

The building is a small late Gothic church. The west tower with an octagonal pointed helmet comes from the expansion around 1910. The studded gate to the sacristy is Gothic.

Church interior

The church has a single nave and three bay nave. Above it is ribbed vault . The westernmost yoke comes from the expansion at the beginning of the 20th century. The three-bay choir has moved in a little and ends in the 3/8 end.

Furnishing

The baroque high altar was built around 1800. The rest of the furnishings are neo-Gothic .
