history

In 1297 a parish was mentioned in a document.

The core of the north and east walls of the nave is Romanesque. The choir was built in the middle of the 14th century with the sacristy in the northern corner of the choir. The tower, in the lower area from the 13th century, was increased by 1500. In 1851 gable structures were added to the tower. The new vaulting of the nave and the addition of a south aisle shows a keystone with 1521. The window in the gable front mentions 1534. The sacristy in the southern corner of the choir was added according to plans by Matthäus Schlager . In 1967, with the architect Anton Zemann, the nave was expanded to the west, the windows on the south aisle were enlarged, the triumphal arch to the choir was enlarged, a breakthrough for a window above the north portal and the neo-Gothic furnishings were removed.

architecture

The nave in the front Gothic area is a two-aisled, three- bay staggered hall with a remarkable ribbed vault in the main nave with curved ribs and three different star formations in the south aisle. The western two-bay extension from 1967 has an upper floor as a gallery. The retracted one-bay choir with a five-eighth end is vaulted with cross ribs . The mighty stone-sighted tower stands north on the Romanesque north wall of the nave and on the Gothic sacristy, which was once barrel vaulted. In the southern corner of the choir, the sacristy extension from 1926 stands over a square floor plan with a stair tower at the outer corner.

The figural neo-Gothic glass windows in the choir were created by the Upper Austrian Glass Painting Institute in Linz in 1908 with the depictions of the Annunciation, the Heart of Jesus, the vision of Margareta Maria Alacoque , Joseph and Maria.

Furnishing

The figures Peter and Paul are from the fourth quarter of the 17th century. The crucifix was documented in 1723. Further figures from the formerly neo-Gothic altars are by Josef Linzinger, who also created the Stations of the Cross in 1911.

The organ was built in 1969 by the Upper Austrian Organ Builders with Wilhelm Zika . There is a harmonium made by Cäcilia Österreichische Orgelbau AG. A bell with the reliefs of Mary with Child and the Crucifixion of Christ mentions 1541. A bell mentions 1619.
