Parish Church: interior

The Roman Catholic parish church Unterach am Attersee is located in the municipality Unterach am Attersee in the district of Vöcklabruck in Upper Austria . It is dedicated to St. Bartholomew and belongs to the pastoral care room Schörfling in the Deanery Schörfling . The church is a listed building .

history

The first little church was probably made of wood. The Gothic building that preceded today's church was probably built in the second half of the 13th century, possibly during the tenure of the Passau cathedral dean and later bishop of Lavant and Breslau , Johann Roth . He was a priest in St. Georgen im Attergau between 1460 and 1490 . The Gothic church was restored in 1633, but in the late 18th century the Gothic church had to give way to a larger new building. Today's church was built by master bricklayer Kogler in 1783. The Gothic choir was integrated, but the Gothic vault ribs were removed. Around 1900 the church was restored and a Lourdes chapel was added.Another restoration took place between 1984 and 1987.

Church building

The late Gothic choir of the church is 2½ bays long and closed by a 3/8 end. The original rib vault has been removed. The single nave longhouse has three bays and a flat, suspended dome ceiling with stitch caps . Above the sacristy is an oratory and the west tower with an onion helmet from 1782.

Furnishing

The high altar from the 17th century was later changed. Bartholomew Altomonte painted the altarpiece . The statues date from the second third of the 18th century. The modern tabernacle was designed by Josef Furthner . The side altars were built in the neo-baroque style. The pulpit was built from parts of the pulpit from the destroyed Mondsee parish church around 1700. The sacrament house with wrought iron grille, which is now in the north side chapel, as well as the baptismal font are made in the late Gothic style. The seated late Gothic Madonna was restored in 1956.

On the western outside of the church there are heraldic tombstones from the 16th century and in the cemetery around the church there are baroque wrought iron crosses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
