The parish church of the Assumption of Mary belongs to the dean's office of Silz in the diocese of Innsbruck . The church is a listed building .

history

The parish was mentioned in a document in 1311. The church was consecrated in 1430. Today the late Gothic north tower and the late Gothic portals are preserved. With the architect Josef Huter the new building of the hall church took place in the years 1890/1891.

Church exterior

The nave and the retracted choir are equipped with two-tiered buttresses, a surrounding coffin cornice and tracery windows. The late Gothic north tower is marked with the year 1498 and has pointed arched coupled sound windows and tracery windows in the gables, with a high pointed helmet. The pointed arched portals in the north and west are also preserved from the late Gothic church building. The west portal dates from the 16th century and has a reinforced frame, with the outer bars being twisted. The three-aisled, four-bay nave has a ribbed vault on beveled pillars.

Furnishing

The high altar with the reliefs Lamentation of Christ and the Entrance to the Temple of Mary has the figures John the Baptist and John the Evangelist in the top and God the Father with a crucifix on the tabernacle. It was created by the Adolf Vogl workshop in 1897.

The organ was built by Anton Behmann in 1892.

Bells

The peal of the parish church of Untermieming has four steel bells that were made by the cast steel works Böhler from Kapfenberg.

The full bell can only be heard on high holidays.
