Emanuel Walch

Johann Emanuel Walch (born August 28, 1862 in Kaisers , Tyrol, † August 25, 1897 in Toblach , Tyrol) was an Austrian painter .

Life

Emanuel Walch first worked in Johann Kärle's workshop in Vorderhornbach . With the help of sponsors and a grant from the state, he then studied from 1883 at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich with Ludwig von Löfftz and Andreas Müller . Walch created oil paintings, altarpieces and frescoes in the style of the Nazarenes and received commissions beyond Tyrol. Weakened by a fall from a painter's scaffolding and a lung disease, he died in 1897 at the age of only 35.
