Andreas Müller , known as “composer miller ” (* July 23, 1831 in Stephans-Rettenberg near Sonthofen , † December 7, 1901 in Munich ) was a German fresco artist , history painter and illustrator of the 19th century.

Life

Andreas Müller was a student of Wilhelm von Kaulbach and Moritz von Schwind . From 1854 to 1859 he worked in Meiningen as artistic advisor and companion for Hereditary Prince Georg, who later became Duke Georg II . Müller then went to Munich , where he became professor for church art at the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich in 1875 . He created frescoes in the Villa Carlotta and illustrations for, among other things, the Fliegende Blätter and Münchener Bilderbogen and a series of depictions from the life of Bavarian princes.
