history

The Gothic choir from the 15th century has been preserved. The church was named as a branch church of the parish church Eibiswald in 1545 and was station chaplaincy from 1787. It was elevated to a parish church in 1892, but its respective beneficiaries were already entitled to exercise their parish rights to the full extent during the period as “Stations-Caplanei”. The church was restored in 1913 and 1972/1973.

architecture

The choir shows stepped buttresses and tracery windows on the outside, the eastern window is walled up. A sacristy is attached to the south of the choir. The compact west tower with a hall open on two sides on the ground floor has a pointed helmet. Above the west portal is the inscription Aedificatum 1572, 1678 .

The one-bay Gothic choir with a five-eighth end has a ribbed vault on services that end halfway up; the two keystones show a head and a diamond pattern. The baroque, somewhat wider nave has a flat ceiling with chamfered sides with simple stucco moldings. The three-axis west gallery stands on round pillars.

Furnishing

The high altar from 1669 shows a high altar painting by the painter Felix Barazzutti (1913). The tabernacle is from the 18th century. The two side altars were transferred here from the Wies parish church .

The organ was built by Carl Billich (1876).
