The district is located in the Werraaue and on the state road 1132 southwest of Hildburghausen and north of Leimrieth .
history
The village was first mentioned in a document on April 12, 912.
Pfersdorf was hit by witch hunts in 1628 . Two women got into a witch trial and were beheaded.
Which belongs to Pfersdorf Good Friedenthal was declared in the GDR dictatorship a prohibited area and for exercises of civil defense and the Combat Groups misused. The political change prevented the complete demolition. 350 people lived in the village at the beginning of 2019.
