The Pfyffer or Pfiffer [ ˈpfiːfːər ], also jokingly called Bluttfüdlehoger (literally ‹Nacktpopohügel›), is a mountain peak on a northern foothill of the eastern Bernese Alps and lies on the border between the communities Eggiwil in the upper Emmentale and Escholzmatt-Marbach at the beginning of the Entlebuchs .
The common name of the elevation, the south side of which is grazed by a swath , should be interpreted as a 'place where the wind whistles'. The name Bluttfüdlehoger is made up of the three common Swiss German words blutt 'mere, naked', füdle 'butt' and hoger 'hill' and could refer to the bare rear of the hill.
