Phaetusa (mythology)

Phaëtusa or Phaethusa ( ancient Greek Φαέθουσα , from φαέθων phaethon , German 'luminous' ) is the daughter of the sun god Helios and Neaira and one of the Heliads in Greek mythology . Her sister is Lampetia , half or full siblings, depending on tradition, are Aigle and Phaethon . In this case, Rhode was her mother.

Together with her sister Lampetia, she tended her father's six sheep and seven herds of cattle, each with 50 animals, on the island of Thrinakia .

Considered the sister of Phaeton, like her sisters she is one of the Heliads and after Phaethon's death she was transformed into poplars, weeping amber tears.
