Phang-nga ( Thai : พังงา ) is a city ( เทศบาล เมือง พังงา ) in the Thai province of Phang-nga . It is the capital of the district ( Amphoe ) Mueang Phang-nga and the capital of the province Phang-nga in southern Thailand .

Phang-nga is located on the west coast of the Malay Peninsula (opposite the city of Nakhon Si Thammarat ) and on Maenam Phang-nga, which flows into the Andaman Sea . The city is about 800 kilometers from the capital Bangkok . Off the coast at Phang-nga is one of the most interesting landscapes in Thailand, with picturesque villages, white cone mountains, mangrove forests and wild jungle.

Phang-nga is benefiting from the upswing in Phuket , which is a little south and has developed into a tourist center in the south.
