Phaolô Lê Đắc Trọng

Phaolô Lê Đắc Trọng (born June 15, 1918 in Kim Lam , † September 7, 2009 in Hanoi ) was an auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Hanoi .

Life

Phaolô Lê Đắc Trọng studied from 1940 to 1948 at the Xuan Bich University Seminary in Liễu Giai in the Ba Đình district near Hanoi. He was ordained a priest for the Archdiocese of Hanoi on April 1, 1948 . In 1950 he became rector of the Vietnamese seminary Le Bao Tinh. In 1952 he was appointed to the Diocesan Court in Hanoi. In 1953 he became head of the Nam Định parish . From 1991 to 1994 he was a professor at St. Joseph Seminary in Hanoi.

Pope John Paul II appointed him titular bishop of Igilgili in 1994 and appointed him auxiliary bishop in Hanoi. The Archbishop of Hanoi, Paul Joseph Phạm Đình Tụng , donated him episcopal ordination on August 15, 1994 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Barthélémy Nguyên Son Lâm PSS , Bishop of Thanh Hóa , and Paul Nguyên Van Hòa , Bishop of Nha Trang .

On January 21, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement. He died in the German-Vietnamese hospital in Hanoi.
