Pharmacognosy

The Pharmacognosy (from the Greek φάρμακον pharmakon "cure poison magic formula" and γιγνώσκειν gignoskein "recognize, learn to know") or drug therapy ( "remedies Customer") is the study of the biogenic - that is plant or animal - pharmaceutical drugs , drugs and toxins . It is a branch of pharmacy and pharmaceutical biology .

tasks

Pharmacognosy deals with medicinal products made from living material or substances obtained from them .

The tasks of pharmacognosy include drug analysis, the search for active substances and the cultivation of medicinal plants or cell cultures .
