Phase III is a German music project that became known in 2006 for the song Funeral March in the black scene .

history

The core of the project are the musicians Frank Ottenbacher, Steffen Maywald, Peer Vanzo and Spif Anderson , supported by several permanent and free guest singers and musicians.

Frank Ottenbacher, DJ and main operator of the Munich black scene club “Nerodom”, founded the project after meeting the music producer Spif Anderson. Ottenbacher is considered to be the head of the project. The Berlin Steffen Maywald, former singer and vocalist of the band Mastertune 's singer and frontman. He also supported, among others, together with Jens Kästel von Funker Vogt Joke Jay on his song Der Jugend Kraft on the album Fiasko Deluxe (2004). Peer Vanzo is also one of the three Nerodom operators.

For the band's name who was science fiction strips Phase IV Pate. The first titles were produced in autumn 2005, followed in 2006 by a download store with provided EPs , which is no longer online.

Under the direction of Peer Vanzo, the concept audio book nach | t | set to music was created in 2006 with 23 poems by Stefan Brinkmann , known as "NachtPoet", which were used as texts for songs of various styles. Phase III and Brinkmann worked together with a large number of singers, musicians and speakers (see list of artists ). The album was set to music by Spif Anderson, who was also responsible for the composition, soundtrack programming and sound effects of the download EPs and the 2009 album Es wird Dunkel .

It gets dark is a compilation of titles that the project had played in Nerodom for a long time. Due to the positive audience response, the decision was made to publish the songs on an album. The album unites a balanced sound mixture with electro and pop elements as well as e-guitar sounds with vocal diversity. It reached the top 10 of the German Alternative Charts (DAC) on May 15, 2009 , and number 9 on July 2, 2009.

The project was never officially discontinued, even though the last releases were in 2009.
