Phil-Mar van Rensburg (born June 23, 1989 in Nelspruit ) is a South African javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Phil-Mar van Rensburg gained his first international experience at the 2015 African Games in Brazzaville , where he won the bronze medal with 76.85 m. The following year he won the gold medal at the African Championships in Durban, Germany, with 76.04 m. In 2018 he took part in the Commonwealth Games in the Australian Gold Coast for the first time , where he finished fourth with 79.83 m.

Between 2016 and 2018 van Rensburg was the South African javelin thrower every year. He is a graduate in Economics and International Trade from Northwest University in Potchefstroom .
