Marius Corbett (born September 26, 1975 in Potchefstroom ) is a former South African athlete.

Marius Corbett was in Lisbon in 1994 with 77.98 m junior world champion in javelin . At the World Athletics Championships in Athens in 1997 , he reappeared after an injury when he was able to qualify for the final in tenth with 80.72 m. Nevertheless, Corbett, who came with a personal best of 83.90 m, was not expected to do what came next. In a curious final, in which Jan Železný did not survive the preliminary fight in ninth place, Corbett climbed to 88.40 m and was 1.60 m ahead of second-placed British Steve Backley surprise world champion.

In 1998 at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, he set the African record, which is still valid today, with 88.75 m. With this achievement he won the competition, Steve Backley was second again.

The injury-prone athlete then did not appear in the top of the world, although according to his profile at the IAAF he threw over 80 m every year until 2001.
