Philip Leo O'Reilly

Philip Leo O'Reilly (born April 10, 1944 in Corgreagh , County Cavan , Ireland ) is an Irish clergyman and emeritus Roman Catholic Bishop of Kilmore .

Life

After finishing school, O'Reilly studied Catholic theology and philosophy . On June 15, 1969, he received the sacrament of ordination . He then worked as a pastor in Castletara, among other places .

On 20 November 1996 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To Coadjutor Bishop of Kilmore . The Bishop of Kilmore, Francis Joseph MacKiernan , donated him episcopal ordination on February 2 of the following year ; Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Luciano Storero , and the Archbishop of Armagh , Seán Baptist Brady .

With the resignation of his predecessor Francis Joseph MacKiernan on October 16, 1998, he succeeded him as Bishop of Kilmore. On December 31, 2018, Pope Francis accepted Philip Leo O'Reilly's resignation.
