Philipp Brand

Philipp Brand (born December 30, 1833 in Worms , † November 5, 1914 in Mainz ) was a German politician. He director of a real estate company and member of the Reichstag of the German Empire .

Life

Born the son of a butcher, Brand studied law in Giessen after attending grammar school in Worms . During his studies in 1853 he became a member of the Gießen fraternity Germania . He was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . From 1864 to 1872 he was the syndic of the Hessian Ludwig Railway in Mainz. Then he was director of the "Süddeutsche Immobiliengesellschaft" in Mainz.

In March 1887 he won a replacement election for the National Liberal Party in the Reichstag constituency of Hesse 2 ( Friedberg , Büdingen , Vilbel ) and was a member of the Reichstag until the end of the legislative period in 1890.

In Mainz he was Grand Master of the Great Masonic Lodge "Zur Eintracht" .
