Vilbel district

The Vilbel district was a district in the Upper Hesse province of the Grand Duchy of Hesse . The former district area today belongs to the city of Frankfurt am Main , the Hochtaunuskreis and the Wetteraukreis in Hesse .

history

The Vilbel district was formed in 1852 from the district courts of Groß-Karben and Rödelheim. It existed until July 1, 1874 and then merged with the neighboring districts of Büdingen , Friedberg and Offenbach after it was dissolved .

In 1852 the district had 22,758 inhabitants in 26 communities. Due to the peace treaty of September 3, 1866 between Prussia and the Grand Duchy of Hesse after the German War , the district boundaries changed:
