Heldenbergen is in the south . The old town center with z. T. yet historic half-timbered buildings is located off the west of Federal Highway 45 . Quiet and hardly burdened by development traffic, the town center still reflects numerous elements of an intact village structure.
history
Kaichen was first mentioned in a document when an Anshelmus de Cochene was mentioned in 1231. The village of Kaichen belonged to the Kaichen free court of the same name , which came under the rule of the Burggrafschaft Friedberg in the 15th century .
In Kaichen, the particular law of the Kaichen Free Court, the Friedberger Police Regulations, applied . In 1679 it was renewed and printed. This is the first time that it can be put into writing. She mainly dealt with administrative , police and regulatory law . In this respect, the Solms land law remained the main source of law for the broad area of civil law . The Common Law was, moreover, if all these regulations did not contain provisions for a fact. This legal situation remained in force in the 19th century after Kaichen had passed to the Grand Duchy of Hesse . It was not until the Civil Code of January 1, 1900, which was uniformly valid throughout the German Reich , that this old particular law was suspended.
A church was built as early as 1400 . A new building followed in 1737.
As part of the Kaichen Free Court, Kaichen fell to the Grand Duchy of Hesse in 1806.
On December 31, 1971, Kaichen was incorporated into the just one year old town of Niddatal.

Culture and sights
Attractions
The most famous cultural monument of the place is the Freigericht zu Kaichen. It is popularly known as the stone table . Here until the 18th century judgments were held for crimes that could only be punished with the death of the accused. The judgments were carried out in the nearby gallows ground (gallows field) or on the execution block . The former places of execution only exist as district names.
In the south of the place are the remains of a Roman settlement. The so-called Roman fountain is still visible today as the remains of a Roman villa rustica on the site of a model airfield.
The town's handsome Protestant church, together with the old schoolhouse and the weed on the village square, form the historic town center. The current restoration of the village fountain, the Weed , is the beginning of further extensive restoration measures which are to encompass the entire town center. The most extensive project is the Friedberg Castle official building from 1782, which is called the "Old School House" due to its later use.
To the east of the Friedberg – Hanau railway line stretches the idyllic Krebsbachtal nature reserve with the Hainmühle at the foot of a wooded hill. The historic Naumburg Castle sits enthroned on the hill .
In June 2012, a "historical tour" initiated and designated by the Kaichen village development was inaugurated, which initially includes around a dozen historical sights.
