The Krebsbachtal near Kaichen is a 34 hectare nature reserve in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse . On August 12, 1988, the ordinance on the nature reserve "Krebsbachtal bei Kaichen", between the Kaichen district of the city of Niddatal , Wetteraukreis and the districts of Heldenbergen and Erbstadt of the city of Nidderau , was issued. The creation of the nature reserve pursued the goal of “ securing and preserving the natural beauty of the Krebsbach Valley with its structural wealth of grasslands , wet and humid meadows , hedges, orchards and species-rich forest communities, which is unique for this region , as a habitat for rare animal and plant species ".

The "Krebsbachtal bei Kaichen" lies between the three localities of Erbstadt and Heldenbergen city ​​of Nidderau and Kaichen city ​​of Niddatal . The Krebsbach flows through the valley . It rises in the Hessenwald near Niddatal and Altenstadt and flows into the “ Nidder ” river near Nidderau . The grove forest stretches along the Krebsbach valley.

On the bank along the Krebsbach there are isolated old boundary stones. They come from a bygone era and indicate an old national border. The stamped letters "KP" and "GH" mean: The area towards the forest once belonged to the Kingdom of Prussia (until 1866 Electorate of Hesse ), the opposite side to the Grand Duchy of Hesse .

The approx. 2.5 km long Krebsbachtal near Kaichen offers a diverse spectrum of wet and humid meadows as well as poor meadows , orchards , hedgerows and ponds.
