The wet meadows near Aufenau are a nature reserve in the area of ​​the town of Wächtersbach in the Main-Kinzig district in Hesse . The nature reserve is located north of the Aufenau district of Wächtersbach and north of the L 3216 state road directly on the Kinzig flowing north .

The 60.47 hectare area with the identification number 1435043 has been designated as a nature reserve since 1986. It is under nature protection in order to “ preserve and develop one of the last high-quality wetlands in the Kinzigaue with its different levels of moisture levels in the water of the common groundwort and Silau meadow communities and associated threatened animal species”.
