The Sinnwiesen of Altengronau are a nature reserve (NSG) near Altengronau and Jossa in the Hessian Main-Kinzig district (NSG no .: 435-047).

location and size

The nature reserve extends at a height of 220 m above sea level. NN over an area of ​​72.9 ha along the Sinn , the Schmale Sinn and in the mouth of the Jossa . In the south, the Hessian Sinnwiesen of Altengronau continue in the Bavarian nature reserve Sinngrund .

Brief description and protection purpose

The Sinnwiesen of Altengronau were designated as a nature reserve in the 1980s because of the occurrence of rare species such as the chessboard flower (Fritillaria meleagris) and the European beaver (Castor fiber).
