The Krebsbach is an almost 8 km long right and northern tributary of the Nidder .

The Krebsbach rises in the Wetterau north of the Wartberg not far from the Engelthal monastery . It initially flows in a south-westerly direction. After Erbstadt , it turns south and runs through the Krebsbachtal , around the hill of Naumburg Castle . At the foot of the hill west of Kaichen is the Hainmühle am Krebsbach. It serves as the setting for the fable Of a Miller and a Donkey by Erasmus Alberus . Behind the hill, the Krebsbach runs to the southeast and flows into the Nidder east of Nidderau - Heldenbergen .
