Philipp Gunkel (born July 11, 1988 in Friedrichroda ) is a German ice hockey player who last played for the Eispiraten Crimmitschau in the DEL2 .

Career

Philipp Gunkel started his career at ESC Erfurt , but came to the ETC Crimmitschau early on , where he went through other youth departments and was junior runner-up in 2004 with the ETC Young Pirates and German junior runner-up in 2006. In the 2006/07 season he was used for the first time in the professional team and was able to establish himself there as a regular player. For the 2008/09 season he was also given a license from cooperation partner Kassel Huskies and was on the DEL team three times.

Before the 2010/11 season , Gunkel moved to league rivals Hannover Indians . After two years in the capital of Lower Saxony, he returned to the Eispiraten Crimmitschau at the beginning of the 2012/13 season , where he initially received a trial contract until the end of November. This was extended to the end of the season due to the good performance.
