Philipp Hofmeister

Philipp Hofmeister (born July 18, 1981 in Freiburg ) is a German sports reporter .

Career

After graduating from the Burggymnasium Friedberg , Hofmeister began to work for the sports department of the Hessischer Rundfunk . As a presenter, he presents the sports news on the radio waves hr-info, hr1 and hr3.

Since 2011 he can be heard regularly in the ARD Bundesliga conference. There he comments on the Bundesliga games of Eintracht Frankfurt and Darmstadt 98 . Hofmeister was also a reporter for ARD radio at the Olympic Games .

Since 2015 he has also been commenting on international matches for the German national soccer team on German radio .

In 2016, together with his colleague Holger Dahl from Westdeutscher Rundfunk , he won second place in the Herbert Zimmermann Prize of the Association of German Sports Journalists in the "Live Report" category for his report on the European Championship quarter-finals, Germany against Italy. In 2019 he took first place for his live report from the women's two-man bobsleigh competition at the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics.

Since 2018 he has been commenting regularly on the Eintracht Frankfurt video podcast of the Hessischer Rundfunk ( Fußball 2000 ) alongside Mark Weidenfeller , Marvin Mendel and Basti Red .

Hofmeister lives and works in Frankfurt am Main .
