Hans Dietrich von Schönberg

Hans Dietrich von Schönberg , also modernized Johann Dietrich von Schönberg , (born October 23, 1623 in Mittelfrohna ; † October 11, 1682 in Altenburg ) was a Saxon-Altenburg secret councilor and chancellor as well as a manor owner .

Life

He came from the Saxon noble family von Schönberg and was the son of Antonius von Schönberg (1588–1638) and his wife Christina, née von Einsiedel (1596–1667).

Like many of his family members, he embarked on an administrative career in the service of the Wettins . Like his father, he went to the court in Altenburg , where he rose to the position of Privy Councilor and Chancellor. As such, he was a member of the Fruitful Society .

The funeral sermon given by the court preacher and general superintendent Johann Christfried Sagittarius on the occasion of his solemn burial was published by Gottfried Richter in Altenburg.
