Philipp J. Bösel

Philipp J. Bösel (born November 13, 1961 in Cologne ) is a photographer and graphic designer . He develops concepts for his photographs.

biography

After spending a year in the USA (Auburn, New York), Bösel studied Film & Video in Art & Design at Middlesex University London. In 1988 he graduated with a Master of Arts (MA) in Computing in Design. From 1992 to 1997 he worked as a lecturer at the Art Academy for Media Cologne in the fields of design and artistic projects. Since 1989 he has been a graphic designer at WDR in Cologne. Philipp J. Bösel is married to Claudia Timpner and has two children with her.

In June 1984 Philipp J. Bösel photographed the Berlin Wall with Burkhard Maus from Bernauer Strasse to Treptower Dammweg, piece by piece, meter by meter. The result was a panorama with over 1000 photographs.

Philipp J. Bösel came up with the idea of ​​capturing the Berlin Wall between East and West Berlin completely photographically not only because his father came from East Germany and his mother from West Germany, but also because he was born in the year the Wall was built exactly three months later on November 13, 1961 in Cologne.
