Philipp Leferenz
Philipp Leferenz (born March 21, 1888 in Heidelberg ; † 1942 in the east) was a German entrepreneur in Heidelberg.
Life
Leferenz attended the Markgrafen-Gymnasium Karlsruhe . After graduating from high school, he studied at the Technical University of Karlsruhe and at the University of Paris. At the beginning of his studies, he became a member of the Suevia Karlsruhe Landsmannschaft in 1907 . After graduating as an engineer, he worked in various positions at home and abroad. In Dossenheim in 1914 he became co-owner of his father's porphyry factory, which emerged in 1885 as the founder of the Heidelberg tram and mountain railway and until the 1980s as a supraregional producer of porphyryHad meaning. The Leferenz porphyry quarry, which has now been closed, is a landmark of Dossenheim today. Leferenz also became co-owner of the Vulkan hard stone works in Haslach in the Kinzig valley . He was a member of what was later to become the Rhine-Neckar Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Arbitration Committee at the Upper Insurance Office. He sat on the supervisory board of Odenwälder Hartstein-Industrie AG in Darmstadt (since 1931) and of Kurpfälzer Textilwerke AG in Mannheim. He died (or died) as a major in the army in 1942 in the German-Soviet War . The Heidelberg factory director Chlodwig Kammerscheid was elected to the supervisory board of the Kurpfälzer Textilwerke for him. His brother-in-law Hermann Peters, a manufacturer in Heidelberg and husband of sister Margarethe Leferenz, followed him on the board of directors of the Odenwald hard stone industry.

Philipp Leferenz was a member of the board of directors of the Heidelberg Museum Society. He received the life saving medal .
