Philipp Scholz

Philipp Scholz (born July 14, 1990 in Dresden ) is a German jazz musician ( drums ).

Live and act

Scholz attended the Saxon State High School for Music . From 2008 he studied jazz drums at the Leipzig Music Academy with Heinrich Köbberling .

Scholz was a member of the Federal Jazz Orchestra in 2010 and 2011 . In 2009 he performed with Robert Lucacius Castravez at the Leverkusener Jazz Days . Currently he plays in the formations PLOT with Sebastian Wehle and Robert Lucaciu, BabY BoOmer with Robert Lucaciu and Werner Neumann and is a member of the big band Spielvereinigung Süd . He also performed with musicians such as Wolfgang Muthspiel , Jürgen Friedrich and Nicolai Thärichen .

Prizes and awards

Scholz was awarded several young talent prizes, including 2007 from the Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art . In 2007 he and Flaura & Phona received a studio award at the Jugend jazzt competition . In November 2014 the band PLOT won the Young Munich Jazz Prize .
