Life

After studying chemistry , Schwarzenberg worked as an intern in Thann in a chemical factory from 1835 and taught natural sciences in Metz from 1836 to 1837 . From 1837 he was the owner of the chemical factories in Ringkuhl.

From 18 May 1848 to the end of the Rump Parliament on 18 June 1849, he represented the sixth Hessian constituency Melsungen in the Frankfurt National Assembly. There he belonged to the Westendhall parliamentary group and was a member of the economic committee and the committee on ministerial responsibility.

After the end of the National Assembly, the Hessian government initiated proceedings for high treason against Schwarzenberg, which he escaped by fleeing to Switzerland . From 1880 to 1884 he was a member of the Reichstag for Kassel for the German Progressive Party .
