Philippa Bevans
Philippa Bevans (born February 10, 1913 in London , England , † May 10, 1968 in New York City , New York ) was a British actress .
Life
Philippa Bevans began her career on Broadway in 1930 , where she appeared in numerous productions until 1967. Her best-known role was as housekeeper Mrs. Pearce in the original production of My Fair Lady, alongside Julie Andrews and Rex Harrison . A joint recording of I Could Have Danced All Night with Julie Andrews was released as a single in 1956 . In the 1950s she appeared in various television productions and series. In the 1960s she also starred in a few feature films, including Noch Zimmer frei at the side of Kim Novak , Jack Lemmon and Fred Astaire , Sidney Lumet's Die Clique and Don Siegel's Only 72 Hours .
Bevans died in New York City at the age of 55 .
