Philippe Cuervo (born August 13, 1969 in Ris-Orangis ) is a former French football player .

Cuervo, who comes from a suburb of Paris, was discovered in his youth by AS Saint-Étienne and started his career there. As a child, Cuervo had initially played as an attacker, but in Saint-Étienne he was retrained as a defender. From then on he played as a full-back. In the 1989/90 season , his first season with the professionals, he played four games in the first division. At the beginning of his career he was plagued by injuries quite often. After he had established himself at Saint-Étienne, he finally went to league rivals FC Sochaux in 1994 . There he experienced the first descent of his career just a year later, as the team could not hold up in the first division despite players like Mehmed Baždarević . Since the project of direct promotion fails and Sochaux is only tenth, Cuervo leaves the club in 1996 and returns to Saint-Étienne, which has since been relegated. In the team at that time, however, there was a lot of competition with players like Willy Sagnol , so that Cuervo only made 21 appearances in one season. Therefore, in 1997 he decided to move abroad, to the English team Swindon Town . Although he was able to establish himself as a regular in the second division in England, he suffered injuries there very often. He returned and played for the US Créteil for a year . In 2001 he went to Stade Laval and played there for two more years in the second division. In the second year he came only to six missions. Then he went to the lower-class traditional team Red Star Paris , where he ended his career in 2006.
