The Philippines Plumplori ( Bornean slow loris ) is a wet nose primate from the kind of slow loris , which in some regions of the Southeast Asian island of Borneo occurs and some southern Philippine islands.
features
The Philippine slow loris reaches an average head-torso length of 27.4 cm and its body shape is similar to all other slow loris. In contrast to all other slow loris, it has a very light, more beige than brown fur. The face mask is light brown and contrasts little with the rest of the fur. The ears are usually not covered with fur. The dark spot around the eyes is very pale, with diffuse edges above and variable lower edges that can reach below the zygomatic arch . The stripe between the eyes is narrow. The spot on the top of the head diffuse, the band in front of the ears variable but never wide.
distribution
The Philippines slow lorikeet lives on the north and east coast of Borneo ( Kalimantan Timur , Sabah , Brunei ), as well as on some islands of the Sulu archipelago in the south of the Philippines . The type locality are the Tawi-Tawi Islands. In parts of its distribution area on Borneo it occurs together with Nycticebus kayan .
Danger
The Philippines' slow lorikeet is listed in the IUCN's Red List of Endangered Species as Vulnerable. The main threat to the species is habitat destruction through deforestation and trapping for domestic purposes.
