Physochlaina infundibularis is a plant type from the genus of Physochlaina in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

description

Physochlaina infundibularis is a 20 to 60 cm high plant that has glandular hairs except on the leaves . The roots are fleshy, round and measure 1.5 to 2 cm in diameter. The rhizomes are strong and round. The stems are mostly branched. The leaves have a 2 to 7 (rarely up to 13) cm long petiole and a triangular or egg-shaped-triangular, sometimes also egg-shaped leaf blade that is 4 to 9 cm long and 4 to 8 cm wide. The base is heart-shaped, cut off or down the petiole, they are pointed towards the front. The leaf margin is covered with a few, roughly triangular teeth.

The umbel-shaped inflorescences are terminal or axillary and are supported by scale-like bracts . The flower stalks are 3 to 5 mm long. The calyx is funnel-shaped to bell-shaped, about 6 mm long and 4 mm wide. The crown is about 1 cm long, funnel-shaped to bell-shaped, yellow-green and has a pale purple base. It is covered with egg-shaped lobes that are about 1/3 the length of the corolla tube. The stamens are slightly different in shape and do not protrude beyond the crown. The stylus is about as long as the crown.

As the fruit ripens, the calyx enlarges, becomes funnel-shaped and 1 to 1.8 cm long and 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter. It has ten inconspicuous, longitudinal veins. It contains an almost spherical capsule with a diameter of 5 mm. The seeds are pale orange-yellow, kidney-shaped and slightly depressed.

distribution

The species occurs in valleys and forests at altitudes between 800 and 1600 m. The locations are in the south and west of Henan , in the Qinlin Mountains in Shaanxi , and in the south of Shanxi .
