Physochlaina macrophylla is a plant type from the genus of Physochlaina in the family of the nightshade family (Solanaceae).

Physochlaina macrophylla is a plant about 80 cm high. The stems are balding. The leaves have a hairless, 3 to 7 cm long petiole and a broadly ovate to elliptical, 14 to 22 cm long, 8 to 12 cm wide, balding leaf blade . The base of the leaf blade is broadly wedge-shaped, towards the front it is pointed or short pointed. The leaf margin is entire, curved or covered with some irregular triangular teeth.
The inflorescences are grape-shaped panicles that are not accompanied by bracts and stand on 4 to 6 cm long, densely hairy inflorescence stalks . The flower stalk is 1 to 2 cm long. The cup is bell-shaped, 1.3 to 1.7 cm long and 1 to 1.5 cm in diameter. It is divided up to half, the calyx lobes are triangular, lanceolate, ciliate and 6 to 7 mm long. The crown is purple, bell-shaped and 2 to 2.5 cm long with a diameter of 1.5 to 2 cm. The corolla lobes are almost triangular and ciliate. The stamens are slightly above the crown, the anthers are about 3 mm long. The stylus does not protrude beyond the crown.
The fruit is enclosed by an enlarging, cup-shaped, 2 cm long and 1.7 to 2 cm wide calyx with about 1 cm long calyx tips. The capsules are almost spherical and measure 1 cm in diameter. The seeds are gray-yellow and measure about 2 mm.
Occurrence
The species grows in forests at altitudes between 1900 and 2400 cm in western Sichuan .
