Pia Maier

Pia Maier (born March 17, 1971 in Sindelfingen ) is a former German politician ( PDS ). From 2000 to 2002 she was deputy chairwoman of the Committee for Labor and Social Affairs of the German Bundestag.

Life and work

After graduating from high school in Böblingen , Pia Maier completed a degree in political science , history and art history at the Philipps University of Marburg from 1990 , which she completed in 1997 as a Magister Artium (MA). Subsequently, she was managing director of the PDS parliamentary group in the Marburg city council and then from 1999 to 2000 she worked for the PDS parliamentary group in the field of education and science.

Political party

Pia Maier joined the PDS in 1995 and was a member of the PDS federal board from 1997.

On 31 August 2000 she moved about the country's list of Hesse for the deceased members Fred Gebhardt in the Bundestag after. There she was social policy spokeswoman for the PDS parliamentary group and from October 11, 2000 until the end of the 2002 electoral term, she was also deputy chairwoman of the Bundestag committee for labor and social affairs.
