The Pic Schrader (Spanish: Punta Schrader or Gran Bachimala ) is located directly on the French - Spanish border and dominates an impressive mountain range of the Central Pyrenees, which is largely on Spanish territory. It closes the Loudenvielle valley with its imposing silhouette. On the French side, the Pic Schrader is in the area of the Hautes-Pyrénées department .

Originally called Grand Batchimale , it was renamed in honor of the famous French cartographer and mountaineer of Prussian descent Franz Schrader , who also made the first ascent on August 11, 1878 with the mountain guide Henri Passet .
