history

According to archaeological finds, Pichl was already in the early Hallstatt period around 1000 BC. At least temporarily settled. The Bavarian settlement from the end of the migration period is lined up around a hump in the town center. Thereafter the place was called Pichl , also Pichel or Püchel (= place on the hill), on the Bühel . This was already mentioned in a treaty from 1338.

The Catholic branch church St. Leonhard is Gothic in essence, but was changed to Baroque in the 17th century.

The rural community of Pichl, founded in 1818 with the Bavarian municipal edict, was incorporated into Markt Manching on January 1, 1972.
