Pierfranco Pastore

Pierfranco Pastore (born April 21, 1927 in Varallo Sesia , Vercelli Province , Italy ; † August 30, 2015 ) was a Curia Bishop of the Roman Catholic Church .

Life

Pierfranco Pastore received on 25 June 1950, the sacrament of Holy Orders . In 1984 he was appointed secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications .

On 3 December 1994 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Forontoniana . The Pope personally donated his episcopal ordination on January 6, 1995 in St. Peter's Basilica ; Co-consecrators were the Archbishops of the Curia Giovanni Battista Re , Official in the State Secretariat , and Jorge María Mejía , Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops .

On November 29, 2003, Pope John Paul II Pastore accepted a petition to resign from the office of Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Social Communications.
