The Pierre-Percée in Courgenay

The Pierre-Percée by Courgenay ( French Pierre-Percée for German  Lochstein ) is a stone with a soul hole . The megalith is in the village of Courgenay in the Swiss canton of Jura . It is 2.5 m high, 2.3 m wide and around 50 cm thick and consists of Kimmeridgium limestone. The axes of the oval soul hole are 35 and 41 cm.

The Pierre-Percée appears to be the original access stone to a dolmen covered by a tumulus . No bones or other remains were found.

The Pierre-Percée is not an isolated incident. Remains of dolmens with a soul hole from around 3000 BC One finds z. B. in Aesch and Laufen in Switzerland, Aroz and Traves in France, and in Degernau and Schwörstadt in Baden-Württemberg .
