Pierre-aux-Fées (Villers-Saint-Sépulcre)
The gallery grave , falsely often called Dolmen called, Pierre-aux-Fées ( German Feenstein ) of Villers-Saint-Sépulcre is a Neolithic megalithic site of the Seine-Oise-Marne culture (SOM) in the Valley of Oise in Oise in the region and historical province of Picardy in northern France .
13 supporting stones made of limestone form the approximately nine meters long and 2.2 meters wide gallery, which is given an antenna-like anteroom by three additional supporting stones . The soul hole in the front panel (visible in the picture and the sketch) has a diameter of about 50 cm. Numerous skeletons were found during the excavations carried out in the 18th and 19th centuries.
There are several megalithic complexes known as "fairy stones" in France . B. the Pierre-aux-Fées (Reignier) also Pierre de la Fée or the menhir on the Champ-de-la-Pierre near the village of Janzé in Brittany .
