Pierre Allier (born January 25, 1908 , † December 14, 1968 ) was a French jazz trumpeter , arranger and band leader , who is remembered primarily for his collaboration with the guitarist Django Reinhardt .

Live and act

Allier worked from 1929 at Grégor et ses Grégoriens , with whom the first recordings were made, and in the following years in the jazz bands of André Ekyan , Fletcher Allen , Michel Warlop ("Blue Interlude", 1934) and Wal-Berg et son Jazz Français. In 1935 he played with the Quintette du Hot Club de France ; 1938 with the Hot Club Swing Stars , to which u. a. In 1941 Allier played with Raymond Wraskoff et son Orchester, Noël Chiboust , Hubert Rostaing and in September 1941 with Guy Paquinet ; soon afterwards he emigrated to South America, where he worked in Buenos Aires as a musician and arranger with Booker Pittman , the French and Argentine Jazz Aces and his own band Pierre Allier's Swing Bakers . In the field of jazz , Allier was involved in 57 recording sessions between 1929 and 1943. a. also with Aimé Simon-Girard (“Cocktails for Two”), Germaine Sablon (“Je voudrais vivre”, 1934), Coleman Hawkins (“ Blue Moon ”, 1935), Serge Glykson and Charles Trenet .
