Serge Glykson

Serge Glykson (* around 1910; † after 1956) was a Swedish jazz and entertainment musician ( alto saxophone , clarinet , flute , oboe ), arranger and band leader .

Live and act

Glykson worked mainly in Western Europe; from 1928 he played in Berlin and Paris in the orchestras of Lud Gluskin (" Tiger Rag ") and Ray Ventura . In the 1930s he worked in Paris a. a. with Stéphane Grappelli , Michel Warlop and Guy Paquinet ( Le Jazz du Poste Parisien ), Fred Adison ; He also worked as an arranger for Jean Tranchant and composer (including the titles "Memories Are Made of This" and "J'attendrai"). During this decade he led his own formations, with which also records a. a. created for Pathé (“Je suis Swing”); played in Glykson's orchestra a. a. Ernst Höllerhagen (1936), Don Barrigo (1932), also Eddie Brunner , David Bee and Jerry Mengo . In the field of jazz he was involved in 73 recording sessions between 1928 and 1939. In the 1950s he worked as a film producer.
